Obituary for Judge William G. McCaslin

Judge William G. McCaslin, age 87, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Rivers Bend in Kuttawa.

He attended Farmersville Elementary and graduated from Butler High School where he was a letterman in football and basketball. He went on to graduate from Georgetown College where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, served in student government and participated in choir and drama programs.

Judge William G. McCaslin served in the United States Army with the 25th infantry division. He was stationed at Schofield Barracks Army Base in Hawaii. He went on to graduate from the University of Louisville Brandeis College of Law. He began the practice of Law in Owensboro, KY and later relocating to Princeton to join in law practice with Gordan Lisanby.

He was elected to serve as City Attorney in Princeton and later the Caldwell County Attorney. He was the 56th Judicial District Judge and Senior Status Judge of Kentucky until retirement.

Judge William G. McCaslin was a member and officer in Kiwanis Club, JAYCEES Club and the local Rotary Club. He was a member of Kentucky Bar Association and on the Board of Directors for Western Baptist Hospital.

He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as the church moderator, chairman of deacons a Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir.

He was an avid hunter and UK sports enthusiast. Judge William G. McCaslin was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his two daughters Connie Wyss and husband Mike of Brentwood, TN and Anita Talley and husband Bill of Princeton; one sister, Jean McCaslin Goodwin of Caldwell County; five grandchildren, William Sutton Cornelius, Kelly Jo Miller and husband Trevor, Benjamin Ross Talley and wife Jordan, Robert Lucas Talley and wife Olivia and Ann Kathryn Duckworth and husband Steven and two great-grandchildren Boone Ross Talley and Jo Elizabeth Talley.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jo Ann Robertson McCaslin; parents Homer Allen McCaslin and Reta Pidcock McCaslin; one brother Donald McCaslin and one sister Dimple McCaslin George.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 12, 2019 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Morgan's Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Morgan's Funeral Home with Bro Kent Workman and Judge Jamus Redd officiating. Burial to follow at Meeks Cemetery in Caldwell County.
