Obituary for James E. "Buddy" Ward, Jr.

James E. "Buddy" Ward, Jr, 69 of Princeton passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the Caldwell Medical Center. He retired from Trice Hughes, Inc., member of the Princeton city council from 1979-1981, a member of Beulah Hill Baptist church, chairman of the Caldwell County fair board and a business owner of several local businesses and a past Mayor of Princeton from 1982 to 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Williams; daughters, Sherry Diane Ward Fralick and husband, David of Princeton, Dallas Ann Ward of Princeton, Anna Lee McSwain and husband, Brian of Ohio, and Kristina Jean Thompson and husband, Jason of Caldwell County; sisters, Mary Lee Burkhart of Princeton and Martha DeBoe; brothers, Roger Ward and wife, Sharon of Fredonia and Thomas Ward and wife, Sandy of Caldwell; and grandchildren, Caitlyn Brooke Fralick, Cole Hunter Fralick, Dyllan Grace McSwain, Lacy Clara Thompson and Jaxton Dean Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Ward, Sr. and Mary Elois Thomas Ward; son, Brian Scott Ward; brother, Hugh L. Ward; and grandchild, Connor L. McSwain.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at Morgan's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2019, 1:00 pm at Morgan's with Bro. Wayne Glass Officiating. Burial will follow in the Lance Nichols Cemetery.
